Hard Skills
Definition
Hard skills are specific, teachable abilities that can be measured and certified, such as coding in Python, financial modelling, or operating a particular machine. Employers list required hard skills in job descriptions, and applicant tracking systems often screen for them by name. Because they are concrete, hard skills are usually the easiest qualifications to verify and the first thing recruiters check against the role's requirements.
Usage Example
The job required SQL and Tableau, so he listed both hard skills prominently in his CV's skills section.
