See your CV the way the software does.
Most employers run applications through applicant tracking software before a person reads them. Put yours in below and find out what that software makes of it — the score, the sections it marks weak, and the words it went looking for and did not find.

Give it your CV
Upload the file or paste the text. No account, no email, no card. Add the job ad too and it scores the match against that posting as well.
It reads it the way the software does
Section by section, the way an applicant tracking system parses a document — not the way a person skims one.
You get something you can act on
A score with the reasoning behind it, every section marked present, weak or missing, the keywords it expected, and concrete fixes.
Why this matters
The first read is not a person
An applicant tracking system stores and filters applications before anyone opens them. It has to find your contact details, your roles, your dates and your skills in places it recognises. When it cannot, a strong CV can be filtered out by a machine that never understood it — and nobody writes to tell you that is what happened.
- It reads structure, not layout
- Columns, text inside images, headers and unusual section names are where a good CV most often becomes unreadable.
- It matches words, not meaning
- A posting asking for a skill you have, described in different words, can score as a gap. Knowing which words are missing is half the fix.
- It expects the usual sections
- Contact details, a summary, experience, education, skills. A missing or misnamed one costs you before a person is involved.
Frequently asked questions
What is an ATS, and why does it matter?
An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software that many companies use to store and filter CVs before a human ever sees them. If key sections are hard for the system to read, a strong CV can be filtered out automatically. This checker shows you exactly where that might happen.
Is this check really free, and do I need an account?
Yes. You can check up to 3 CVs a day without creating an account or entering any payment details. Create a free TalentAid account for unlimited checks and automatic fixes.
Is my CV stored or shared with anyone?
No. Your CV is processed in memory to produce your result and is never saved to a database, written to a log, or shared with anyone. Once you see your result, nothing about your CV remains on our servers.
What file formats can I upload?
PDF, DOCX, TXT, RTF, TEX, MD, ODT and PAGES files up to 5 MB. You can also paste your CV as plain text instead of uploading a file.
Can I check my CV against a specific job?
Yes. Paste the job description into the optional field and we will add a match score showing which keywords from the job ad your CV already covers and which ones are missing.
How accurate is the score?
The score reflects common patterns that make CVs harder for applicant tracking systems and recruiters to read: missing sections, weak formatting, and keyword gaps. It is a strong signal, not a guarantee of a specific outcome with any one employer's system.
The check is the free part.
If the result is useful, an account rewrites the CV against a specific posting, finds roles worth applying to, and rehearses the interview.
