Employment Gap

Definition

An employment gap is a period in your work history when you were not in paid employment, perhaps due to caregiving, study, travel, illness, or redundancy. Gaps are common and need not harm your prospects if you handle them honestly. On your CV you can briefly note what you did during the time, and in interviews you can frame the period positively and focus on your readiness to return.
