CV vs Resume
Definition
A CV (curriculum vitae) and a resume are both summaries of your career, but they differ by length and region. In the UK, Europe, and much of the world, "CV" means a concise two-page career document. In the US, a resume is the standard one-to-two-page job application, while a CV is a longer academic document listing publications and research. Knowing which term and format an employer expects helps you meet local hiring conventions.
Usage Example
Applying to a London startup, she sent a two-page CV rather than the longer academic format used in research roles.
