Action Verbs
Definition
Action verbs are strong, specific words that start CV bullet points and describe what you accomplished, such as led, built, delivered, or reduced. They make your achievements feel active and concrete rather than passive or vague. Replacing weak phrases like "responsible for" with a precise action verb helps recruiters quickly grasp the impact you had in each role.
Usage Example
Instead of "responsible for the budget," he wrote "managed a 250,000 pound budget across three projects."
