Pull the recurring terms from the posting. Eight to twelve is usually enough: the named skills, tools, qualifications and the job title itself.
Place them where the parser files them. The skills section shows an exact match. Achievement lines in your experience section show the keyword in action. For example, "built monthly reports in Power BI" is stronger than just "Power BI."
Align your CV headline with the advertised title. Many people consider matching your CV's job title to the role you are applying for a top ATS tip. In the Jobscan survey, 55% of recruiters filter candidates by title.
Spell out abbreviations once. Analysis by Jobscan suggests some platforms, including Greenhouse, use exact term matching in recruiter searches. So the system may not treat "MBA" and "Master of Business Administration" as the same term [8]. Write "Master of Business Administration (MBA)" and both searches find you.

Two things to avoid. White-text keyword blocks and stuffed skill lists show up in parsed text. This is exactly what recruiters read. They can look like spam. Never claim a skill you do not have just to match a search. Keywords help recruiters find you. You still have to pass the interview.
