Probation Period
Definition
A probation period is an initial phase in a new job, often three to six months, during which the employer assesses your performance and fit. Notice requirements are usually shorter on both sides, and some benefits may not yet apply. Passing probation typically confirms your permanent status. Treat it as a chance to prove yourself and to confirm the role and company are right for you.
Usage Example
He passed his six-month probation period after consistently meeting targets and was confirmed as a permanent employee.
